TIDE’s Commitment to Establishing Trust, Stimulating Inquiry, Nurturing Development, and Community Engagement

TIDE aims to enhance the rigor, reach, and impact of rehabilitation research by training current clinician-scientists in mentoring best practices and community-engaged research, while equipping graduate and professional students with the skills needed to pursue careers in this field. With the increase in prevalence of chronic illness and physical disabilities, there is a significant need for new, more effective, and more efficient rehabilitation methods. For this reason, TIDE is committed to creating and sustaining a program that welcomes, nurtures, and advances a scientific workforce that brings together a breadth of ideas, talents, perspectives, and experiences to rehabilitation research that seeks to address the needs of these communities that can benefit most from rehabilitation care. We will work intentionally to train and support a cadre of future clinician scientists with complementary skills to pursue rehabilitation research careers.
